Thissa (who is formerly known as T.S) is a Mafikeng-born rapper who is known for his unique ability to compliment a beat, please a crowd, and much importantly, enthral a listener. Thissa brings together rhymes, flow, imagery and punchlines; complete with a boastful outlook when approaching various subjects in songs.
Born Tshepiso Leseyane in March of ‘87, this outspoken MC began his career as a recording artist after becoming active as one of the founders of Pretoria-based rap crew Jade Jewels in 2005. This later on saw the release of his first solo mixtape and DVD, dubbed Bless The Kid in 2006, which was hailed as one of the first of its kind out of Mafikeng.
Thissa then followed-up with a street album entitled SLT: Sounds Like Takeover, which consisted of original material that he produced himself. In 2008, Thissa participated in a nation-wide rap competition titled Versus (which was spearheaded by Jam Alley and broadcasted country-wide); in which he went on to win the provincial leg of the programme which saw him represent North West in the national finals.
Together with crew members 2C and Rayskillz, Thissa has formed a new rap group under Jade Jewels called Ray-2C-Thissa, or R2T. R2T is currently working on their debut album which will also include Jade Jewels member Demar on most of the production; as well as DJ Abza, and more. Ray-2C-Thissa is set to release their first single (as well as video) in mid-spring of 2011.
