This initiative is to show respect to the females behind the mic. The focus is on the ladies that perform in the Hip Hop and Soul genres amongst others. Ladies of the Mic aims to facilitate in making the ladies behind this music known and give people an opportunity to see them under one blanket. More pillars make a building stronger. More females working together can only mean great things for music.
Ladies of the Mic selects female artists from different genres in the Hip Hop, Rnb and Soul genre. Some are better known thanothers. This will be a compilation that will be released as per public demand which will see different submissions coming in from all over the country and/or the African continent. The first few compilations will be free to the masses online and for sale at major Hip Hop events for a hard copy with the aim of promoting the brand during the years. The compilation aims to represent all spheres of Hip Hop, RnB and Soul.
The aim is get the music and the artist on a bigger platform and give the ladies an opportunity to be part of something bigger than them. It can also be an opportunity for collaborations and record deals for the unsigned artists.
